Brigit Pegeen Kelly Comments (2)

Brigit Pegeen Kelly's work is always accompanied by the disclaimer, 'more suitable for advanced readers, ' which is a shame. Any poet interested in seeing just how deep the water gets should jump right in and swim around. Yes, the language and diction is often formal and academic, but hey, if we have anything to learn, why not learn from the best?
Ms Kelly is one of the most beautiful poets writing in this new century. She was shortlistded for the Pulitzer in 2005, losing to Ted Kooser, a far lesser poet in my opinion, but she'll get her prize within the next 10 years for sure.
