David Watts trained first as a classical musician, then switched into medicine becoming an Internist and Gastroenterologist on the faculty of the University of California San Francisco. He has been a television and radio host on PBS, Lifetime Network and served as a commentator on All Things Considered. He came to poetry late in life training at San Francisco State University and The Squaw Valley Community of Writers. He has also written short story collections, western novels, mysteries and essays.He lives in California with his wife and two sons.
