I have to disagree with you regarding your statement about Novalis poems not being regarded as important or "well-loved" by the younger generation; I for instance am only eighteen years old this year and has since I was seven read these poems at least five times each and I still enjoy them while occasionally quote parts of them.
Novalis was the second major poetic influence in my biography. The first was Dylan Thomas (whose poetry I discovered when I was 12 yrs old) . I was almost 19 when I discovered 'Henry Von Ofterdingen' and 'Hymns to The Night'. I wonder that these works are not more well-loved by young people today.
