0257 When The Heart Melts

sometimes,
some wonder times,
I read a poem here and
instantly want, because
of the love of poetry
or goodness, or truth, or beauty, or
whatever, to
live the life
of the poet who
wrote it

though

on reflection
that might not work out
or, I might not know
I'd exchanged lives!
but

at the moment I thought it
the thought was pure because
thanks to poetry
and the very human poet
our hearts were indeed
as one

That's a lovely thought Michael, and I know what you mean, it's an instant joining of minds. Lovely poem.Thanks. Love Ernestine XXX
Excellent capturing of a thought Micheal, suggesting a need to change but in a complete way. Suddenly realising the impossibity, there is a resignation to the self but a reaffirmation of love.
HI VERY NICE POEM WISH TO READ ALL UR POEMS
This is so sensitive and introspective. I like the honesty and positive ending as well as the tension between wanting and not wanting to live the life of the other poet.
a beautiful revelation so well expressed delving into the secret heart and giving that gift to all a fine poem
