Poem By Janine Alyssa Navarro

You watched me
Float above your bed
I count
The breaths I take
The wind chimes giggle
Wings are what become
Of our promised stars
That once lit the path
We used to skip, roll in

Lightning prances
On your hiding forehead
Let me make you
Understand my hurt
In a snap of a finger
Tell me when to begin
The evening air calls
Let’s be anybody
We could be anybody
Listen, I’m getting to the point…

Am I Gone

the air has taken shape
of a monster, a beast
that I can’t fend off
it tugs at my heart

What Do You See?

you see a subtle woman
clothed in her luscious black hair
but you’ve turned her into a child
each time you left that door

Seven Stars

Elegant as a floating cloud
Her breath tastes of sugar
Her eyes have stolen the stars
Porcelain skin that burns

Unrequited And Wine

imperfect grapes, or even berries
were drowned into this bottle
but care not for its origin, its maker;
instead bask in its service, its offering

Our Dreams Were Suspended

Our dreams were suspended
Like little stars on a baby's mobile
The clouds clothed us unrequitedly
Even if we ran away to the seas
