(1) A Friendship Bridge

You made me love the teachings of Tagore.
My thoughts were mesmerized by your sitar.
I kept the little flowers from India,
Artfully pressed to span a century.

Creative journeys never really end.
Our era is a lamp that still burns on.
I send some thoughts like flowers overseas
Their fragrance will outlast both you and me.

Your world class mind inspires me every day
To build a friendship bridge from West to East.
By touching souls with others, I touch yours.
The wonder of that sets two worlds alight.

'For the former editor of Ocarina, Dr. Amal Ghose who inspired
me to build friendship bridges between poets of the East and West'

One of if not the most talented Poetesses that shared her work on this site. Her passing was a loss to this site and for me a personal loss as Sandra was as good of a friend as she was an extraordinary wordsmith.~FjR~
beautiful poetic feelings... exquisetly expressed.... a message, in a format and language that transcends boundaries and barriers... great lines... loaded with the weight of time and the beauty of what couldd be. cheers
The east is so rich in ways that we in the west have to fight for. thanks for this universal sentiment and kind regards, john
Your endeavors to build a friendship bridge from west to east are really admirable! I am a newcomer to this site. I just had a glance through your poems and was highly impressed. In course of time I will take time to read more of them. Meanwhile I would like you to know that a selection of my poems too has been posted on this site. I would request you to kindly visit the same, at your convenience, and give me your valuable comments on some of them.
