(..................14sept2) Portrait: Two Men

The two men
walk together like overgrown boys,
a jaunty humor jingling between them.

One of them dwarfs the other.
The smaller, compact man
carries a rolled up blueprint
under his arm.
The other is big and athletic.

Are they brothers?
The are like octaves of the same song,
point counterpoint, music
walking nonchalantly along.

Ther's one pair that comes to my mind here: the pair in 'Of Mice and Men'... Cheers. Subroto
It's a great idea to compare human bond and connection to music, harmonious or discordant. A fine poem indeed.
Max, I have to agree with Tara about your 'octaves of the same song' - it certainly is a satisfying metaphor, as is this slice of life you portray in your highly accessible and wonderfully poetic style. Love your 'jaunty humor jingling between them' too. A thoroughly appealing piece. love, Allie xxxx
Now that is a brilliant analogy (octaves of the same song) . Lovely subtle rhyming scheme. I love to people-watch and have often wondered such a thing. Cousins? Brothers? Father and son? Excellent Max - and summed up so succintly. t x
