1986 -
house burns
love turns
from childish expectations
to sordid realisations.
I am become a nation unto myself.
86-ed out of youth
conditioned to harsh truths
my constant companions claim me
Hungry Belly
Dusty Foot
Empty Cupboard
stalk me right down the narrowed corridors of years.
Dreams curdle
oozing more pain
than was ever believed possible.
