4th Of July Fireworks

It’s that time of year again
We’re nearing the 4th of July
Nothing quite as pretty
As sparks against the sky

And that is what it means
Freedom it represents for us
A day to set aside
And to make a lot of fuss

We honor our independence
It’s what we have always fought for
And even though it’s never easy
To keep the enemies from our door

So picnics and bar-b-q’s are planned
To celebrate this special day
But stop a moment and remember
The meaning of the brilliant displays!

I love the flow of it and the rhythm, found myself wanting to sing a song about three white ducks.....
strobes of patriotic light reflected from these sincere words
Ah yes-Patriotics are displayed in many ways besides as brilliant sights and lights in the night lit skies. Great tenner of a poem. God bless all poets and readers alike-MJG.
