Poem By Jeff Law

The morning dawns from the news that my once best friend has administered the final dosage
A tingle from the bruise, as the tip of the blunt injection finishes me off from the person I grew closest
Violated and abused, with lies and stories with deceiving truths, the poison fills my veins and the fight I begin to loose
Empty the needle and confess, but you fed me venomous in parts, sparing me no less than a decent goodbye, stab a sneer at my heart, leave me broken into two

Two halves of me they stare in the mirror, the reflection laughs back and points, the blood stops for a second and my heart no longer beats
What sort of heartless creature lies through jagged teeth, ragged and speaks an opportunity of truth but chooses toxin and deceit
I can see the monster sticking into my right arm, I need to shake this evil free, disarm this weight impeding me and aim for pastures greener
The change of spirit from which she was, it’s like I was bewitched because I faltered and she ditched all cause of good so now I must get cleaner

A ceremony of forget, a celebration of regret, the spirit on my left points his finger and it’s lit
The red, orange and amber, it crackles, the sparks cackle as they climb and clamber, they flicker at the stars and fall back down to earth in anger
The blaze of the colours from the once auburn flames is now turned into darkness and only grey ash remains
Your black smog screen, prison like and dreary I can picture so clearly, I fell for it nearly but now I am out of these chains

The ashes are formed from memories of past and present but the futures invitation has been burned at the sides
The letter falls through and floats in a ghostly manner, it drifts towards smoke and on charred embers confides
Old flames burn and new leaves turn with lessons to be learned and success to be earned
Goodbye to waste, old smells and old tastes, and with a smile on my face, I’m off to a better place

i can name 5 things about this girls beauty
and all my words, i speak them truely
it's funny how one person in one letter
can make you understand this person better

struggling every day with these hard times
so i write in my black book, fill it with hard rhymes
but i crumble inside when the future is mentioned
and the way that you lack every detail of my attention

Flowers On Valentines

Valentine’s flowers, these don’t need any water
I hand this gift to the most beautiful daughter
In keeping these flowers alive, you surely can’t falter
The perfect gift for a perfect valentine, this moment needs no alter

1.Winter Night

In the cold and dark I see your light
With you in my vision I feel no fright
With you I can see clearly, you are my clear sight
In the cold and dark of this winter night

Grandfather Clock

Grandfather clock.
A second is a minute
With sixty seconds in it
So keep an eye on the clock

That special night when two are one
And one means you are whole
You’ll lie on cover and hug forever
Until the dawn does come.
