.7. Cables

Cables going everywhere
Each one with a plug
One runs down the skirting board
Then lost beneath a rug

They fight their way to sockets
Were each will get its juice
To fire up appliances
As they come into use

The never ending cables
They run beneath our roads
Supplying endless power
Until it overloads

Cables flowing everywhere
Like rivers without end
If they meet obstruction
We get another bend

Outside they’re laying cables
Which run to our T.V.
My doctor uses cables
They sometimes run to me

We try to hide our cables
But some cannot be hidden
Some often fill adapters
Once were classed forbidden

Our lives rely on cables
Though some require reducing
To help stop global warming
By pumping lower juice in
