.7. Mr. S. Man

The holly bearing berries
Outside is white with snow
Where sleigh bells jingle loudly
And children snowballs throw

There stands a man who sees it all
With coal black eyes he stares
Frozen to this landscape
Whose colour now he shares

A floppy hat of sodden felt
With nice broad stony grin
Long striped scarf around his neck
Below his rounded chin

His outstretched arms are branches
A carrot makes his nose
He’s feeling so much stronger
Now his outer skin has froze

The animals all love him
With squirrels at his base
Robins on his shoulders perched
Look deep into his face

This man was made with friendship
Children rolled him round the yard
Put all his pieces into place
And watched him set rock hard

Each dressed him with refinement
They could have done no more
He stood there proud through Christmas
Till he warmed and stood no more
