.7. What A Find

On the plough a metal clang
Another rock or boulder
Something’s flying through the air
It looks a little golder

As it fell the ploughman saw
This brightness plough had found
An object from another time
Had lain beneath this ground

His key turned off the engine
He climbed down from his tractor
Could this be a treasure trove?
Who owned it that’s a factor?

Whilst stooping for the object
Looked back within ploughs rut
The corner of a metal box
Out from the soil did jut

A golden coin within his grasp
He walked back down the furrow
To where the metal box now lay
Half buried in a burrow

One good tug now freed it
The lid sprung open wide
Filled to its brim with gold and jewels
Someone had tried to hide

His greed then overtook him
He whisked the hoard away
To hide until another time
Beneath where cattle stray

I like this one, I also want to find something in the dust!
