A Child Laborer

In a brick factory
child laborers are many,
carrying the loads...so heavy,
in an environment...so dusty,
near the kiln so hot and stuffy,
with their stomach so hungry,
and their mouths dry and thirsty.

In a factory making garment,
under-age workers number in hundreds,
working in an environment,
with sound decibel above the standard,
loud noise making them almost deaf,
with aching and soreness in their back.

In a busy tea shop,
child workers working almost nonstop,
Many cups and plates they have to wash,
so as not to provoke the anger of the boss,
from morning 6 o'clock to night 11 o'clock.

The boss exploits their cheap labor,
for a huge profit of much dollars,
to send his son to the best school,
to gain the knowledge, a powerful tool.

The child laborers lose their childhood.
About that the boss never understood.
The child laborers work for a low salary,
to support their own poor family.
