A Climbing Tree

When I was a little girl about six or so
I loved to climb the trees
I looked carefully at many of them
To see if they were right for me.

I'm sure I learned from my brother
There was a world way up high
Away from the "downstairs" world
And I always wanted to try.

We made seats with boards
Where we got them, I don't know
We hung important things
On branches up high and below.

It was a world unlike any other
A world for a tomboy like me
Where ever we moved I located
A perfect climbing tree!
