A Comfort Missed

Poem By Lawrence S. Pertillar

When cries for help are heard to be felt,
Then with a quick relief one breathes easily...
To hear a voice heard belonging to someone else.

A comfort returns to begin again.

Never ignore what it is you hear.
Never ignore the sound of weeping tears.
To believe they are not yours.

You may be asleep momentarily.
But when one awakens to discover reality,
All cries for help one realizes are connected.

And only when it is detected to closer inspect,
To assist and correct this...
A comfort returns to begin again.

A comfort missed when remembered peace existed.
