A Dividing Line

Poem By Kathy Hockey

What is the dividing line between love and the heart? What really defines the emotions, thoughts, and feelings That embodied the mind with such emotions charged Is it the privity of one's nearness To protract oneself into a soft cocoon Of awareness that makes a person dear Is it the eyes that can warm the body If the eyes are the mirror to our hearts Is it the nucleus of tenderness that Entwines one to become so loved in another heart Is it the need to capitulate Every thought and feeling real Again, the question arises Is it the heart or love That makes us what we feel?

It springs its glorious body
out of the horizon
And spreads its gentle warmth
to everything arising,
