A Dream Or Reality?
Poem By Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet
Tantalising, delectable, appealing are you,
When I see you in my dreams, all night through.
The pictures of you in my arms
And how I am holding you
Bring comfort to my fevered brow
As I dream of you anew.
Sensations of your touches on my body through the night,
Make my hairs stand up on end, as if they had had a fright,
Wishing it was reality, and not another dream
Or thoughts, perhaps, of days gone by,
And of what it might have been.
My mind now soporific from imbibing too much,
My thoughts and dreams intermingled, as I await your touch,
But will the touch happen, or is it but a dream?
For visions in dreams are never what they seem.
Endless nights of sleeplessness while I hope to dream once more,
Of how you appeared first to me, and wanting you as before.
Expectations of passionate embraces never more will be,
As my body drifts into sleep, for reality it cannot be.
