Although your syllable count of 5-7-5 is correct, Lorraine, this is technically not a haiku but a senryu poem. A haiku is only about nature, nothing else. A senryu is about anything else except nature. Both are always written in the 5-7-5 syllable style. Still, I enjoyed this well written and expressed senryu poem very much. Carl.

Lorraine I enjoyed the provocation of thought in this haiku...eternal vs. the moment.....and which has more meaning in the end......thanks for sharing your talent and insight

I really love this poem! Like most good Japanese literature, it leaves so much to the reader and is very philosophical. Well done! Please check out my poems, and let me know what you think! Thank you in advance- http: //poemhunter.com/samuel-stuart-pennell/ Samuel Stuart Pennell

Contains so many aspects of a good haiku. I am still trying to master it. So I read others hoping to translate the secret. I am sure I will find your haiku insipiring.
