A Haven

Poem By Lynzi Berner

I come here to be
with myself
To toss rocks into
the waters
While I think about
trying to let you go

I climb the rocks
jagged paths
til I am standing
on the edge
looking out across
the water

I can look down
and see the
undulating, broken images
of what lies beneath
the surface
It reminds me
of me
Transparent, but not
showing my actual self

The rocks comfort me
the sounds of the waves
sing me a beautiful song

I came here to forget you
but found myself instead
Staring back at me
from under my own
Reflection in the water
