A Heart Or Two

Poem By Georgia Leana Benedictos

I always dreamt of you
Holding my hand
Holding my heart
Yet, none of it came true.

I wished I had you
But she has you
Body and soul
I have nothing at all.

I am full of hopes
Even high ones
Like a tall skyscraper
But I am like a crumpled paper.

I have been hurt
By you, without you knowing it
I wish I had a heart like her
From one to two.

The first, now the second
Can I be the third?
I get my hopes up
Waiting for you to pull me up.

Philippines: The Place You'D Love To Be

Have you ever been to the Philippines?
My true country, the place you need to see.
Look for all of it's natural beauty
Travel across by air, by land, by sea.

The Fire And The Ice

I knew a man who was in love with a woman
But he was fire and she was ice.
They can never be together some say
But why do others say opposites attract.

Starstruck

I had a reverie. I was starstrucked.
I was walking with someone I do not know.
I suddenly remembered my mom.

A Last Dance, A Distant Glance

I stared blankly among the crowd,
Searching for a face I'm very proud.
Dancing feet and holding hands,
Pair of hearts swaying with the bands.

Soar With The Wind

What caused your hat to fall?
Alas, the wind started it all.
The wind can sometimes be deadly
But what happened to you really?

A Child's Bucket List

I really envy a child running outside
Because here I am lying on my bed
Waiting for the bright light
To shine upon my head.
