A Hot Dinner With A Cold Companion
I love you forever and beyond,
by G.B. Smith
at least that is what you told me.
Today was like all of the yesterdays;
we never spoke, or looked at each other.
Your lover is someone I cannot compete with;
I wish it was your work!
Tonight we sat at dinner at a lovely restaurant.
You read the personals and I read my book.
Dinner came and I ate my salad in silence,
you called her on my cell phone.
You left me a year ago, my silent heart still aches for you,
but when you look at me all you see is nothing.
Oh dear God, why can't he see me.
I am in a room full of people, and all alone with you.
A hot dinner with a cold companion;
I hate the taste of divorce.
