A Hundred Plus

Poem By Pearl Smart Wilson

When the fire started
At the old Mckinley High school
A hundred plus hearts
Went up in the blaze
Of the biggest black heritage
There ever was
As the fireman put the blaze out
And the water spreads out
A hundred plus tears
Rolled down a hundred plus faces
And we hope that he can find the reason why
This has happen to us.
