A Little Ring - By Frederick L. O'neill

Oh my wife is always talking
About a little ring.
She never tires of squawking
About the filthy thing.

So by now, its time I guess
To promise that I'll scrub
That menace to my happiness,
That ring around the tub!

This poem was written by my uncle, Frederick L. O'Neill probably in the late 1930s or very early 1940s. I submitted it because my mother had a framed copy hanging in a bathroom and as a child I used to enjoy reading it, and to this day I recite it to myself as I scrub the stains from the inside of my bathtub!

To promise that I'll scrub -
That menace to my happiness;
That ring around the tub!
