A Man For The Moment

Poem By Werner Schmidt

1: Hey Bro', how was your trip?

2: Wonderful, we took, like, a thousand
three hundred photos during our ten days' stay -
a new record.

1: Jeez, that's, like
a hundred and thirty per day.

2: A crisis around day seven, though.

1: What crisis?

2: My phone's memory card was full.
Couldn't .
Idiot me left the laptop at home.
We searched high and low
for a second memory card.

1: Don't think you're
gonna get service
down at the coast, my friend.

2: We searched for an entire day.
Finally found a four gigabyte card.
Ridiculous price, but what can you do?
Luckily I've ed both cards to my laptop.
Did it, like, first thing when we got home.
I backed it all up on my new
terrabyte external hard drive.

1: Well done, man.
Family time, precious memories.

2: You know, the trip was over so quickly.
Felt like we never went.
At least we've got the pics, right?

1: Yeah. So, when are you guys inviting us for
a holiday slide show and a braai?

2: You don't understand, brother.
We've got like eight or nine trips
to work through, ourselves.
Give you a shout when we're up to date, okay?
