A Man From Claraghatlea North

A man from Claraghatlea North is all I'll ever be
And a man from Claraghatlea North seems good enough for me
From by the Town of Millstreet where Finnow waters flow
And where to the old fields in view of Clara the Seasons come and go,
You ask me where is Claraghatlea where i first saw light of day
Far north of here as the crow does fly thousands of miles away
A man from Claraghatlea North on the roadway to Rathmore
Thousands of miles of sea and sky from this far southern shore,
When tadpoles with their wriggly tails are wriggling in the drain
And the flowers of Spring are in the fields i will return again
To my old home in Claraghatlea North beside the babbling rill
That flows on to the river from the high field by the hill,
I'm just a man from Claraghatlea North of that why should i lie
And that is all I'll ever be until the day i die.
