A New Light

I float in absolute darkness.
There is nothing else.
All other lights extinguished.
Just as I wonder what is left to live for,
A new light appears.
Not an old light reawakened.
This light is unknown,
Pure,
Untainted by lies or betrayal.
Small, it drifts towards me,
I towards it,
All the while it growing bigger.
Pulling me out of the darkness.
It swallows me.
Pure, sweet light.
Life.
How could I have forgotten this?
How could I have become so consumed by the darkness,
To forget what its like to live?
Light.
Life.
A new reason for living.
Light.
I soar.
