A No-Show Drive-In

they come to my house,
passionate lovers;
have not quite turned the cusp to manhood
—with great heads of hair
and piercing brown, blue
and gray eyes.

I turn them each away—saying,
“not tonight “
and they leave
with curses
their breath.

Hmm, how many suitors we talking about here? ? ;)
Maybe you've got them all wrong.maybe they're government ass-checkers.
Great poem. They missed the opportunity.
Good poem showing so many missed opportunity's is the poem for the regrets of turned away lovers or for things you feel you should have done.
Just my kind of poem! Concise yet visual. Lovely.
