A Piece Of Trivia Recalled

Poem By Raymond Farrell

I stopped for a cappuccino
At the Expresso Cafe
On the corner
Of Bloor and Lipinsky
I stared absentmindedly
Out the window
Watching the people
Going back and forth
Until the waiter
Put the cappuccino
In front of me
It was then I noticed
The design of the cocoa powder
On the white froth
Was identical to
What I had seen
Once before
When I drank
A cup of cappuccino
In Perugia, Italy
Sitting in a quaint cafe
Staring absentmindedly
Out the window
Watching the people
Going back and forth
I wonder
In what cerebral gyrus
That memory lay dormant
All these years!
