A Portrait Of A Lady

A portrait of a lady.
A gift for overseas.
A miniature of the original
Arrived Christmas Eve.
She wears a smile virginal
Meant only for me, I know
Her dark eyes warmly glow.
My duchess of Paducah!
Her ethnic garb bespeaks
Her lineage and seeks
To mind me of her traits
Of tongue and arts and cuisine
A lively spirited gamine
As wholesome as the bread
From the golden wheat she holds.
She gazes at me and my being enfolds
my lady.
