A Secret That Shall Not Be Told For A Long Time

I am only a child, yes a young one too.
But I have this feeling that no others my age have.
It is a feeling so awkward, yet so ardent
It is amazing yet unnerving
It stays then goes, but when it stays,
It stays for a while.
And when it stays, I cannot get rid of it.
Amiable it can be, but it can also be hostile

What is this feeling you ask?
It is Love I tell you-
But I am too young,
and definitely not ready to love in public
I will just keep this feeling inside me,
safe and sound.
Were no one else can sustain.
A secret you and I must only discern
A secret that shall not be told for a long, long time.

Fine penning Elizabeth! Well, young love is best. 'Gather ye rosebuds while ye may' said Robert Burns. Perhaps Poe said it all when he wrote: I was a child and she was a child, In this kingdom by the sea; But we loved with a love that was more than love- I and my Annabel Lee; With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven Coveted her and me.
