A Shore That Wishes To Drown

Who can tell?
Our lives may intersect too
Who knows,
Despite our vanity,
We might have our breaths hanging on for some realization too

There is something that we mustn't think
We mustn't think that our lives, in any way, were holy

In spite of allthe connotations
A coincidence such as us meeting might wish to ring in our ears
We mustn't think that our lives were holy

We mustn't think-
That our history ever deserved to be baptized by the spirits that we thought did lay within us

And with every rising and setting pulse,
Our history feels like a shore that wishes to drown-
