A Simple Sermon
A preacher delivered a simple sermon,
It was old, and yet it was new,
Perhaps a figment of the brain,
But morally and spiritually true.
It touched the core of a genial mind,
And lo and behold the words became
A guiding light, a beacon of hope,
An admonitory flame.
The thought was small, the issue great,
Like a fire tower on the hill.
It shed its rays of hope and faith,
And comforts the parishioners still.
