A Stormy Night

Who can sleep with blustery winds
Rattling the shutters on the outside door,
And icy snow pellets beating against the panes,
Eerie sounds that were often heard before.
Tree branches brush against the house
Creating suspense on this cold, winter night,
Snow drifts forming on every street corner,
Invigorating winds blowing with all their might.
Snow falling intensely through the darkest hours
Whirling through vast areas that were miles apart,
When a welcomed relief comes at the peak of dawn,
The worries of the stormy night will soon depart.
Beyond the shadows of each crystal window pane,
The remnants of the storm were about to wane.
