A Talk With Daddy

Poem By Michelle Ogden

I talked to my daddy tonight
He's always been my hero
Always been my strong arm
Watches over me wherever I go
I told him how the world crushes
Tramples my spirit to dust
How many times people failed me
And led me to such distrust
All the way up in heaven
He held me, calmed my fears
Soothed my spirit
And dried my tears
Thank you dear God
For lending him to me tonight
For as long as I can talk to daddy
I know everything will be alright

Why do I still love you so much

The Ritual

In pale moonlight she dances
Under the mighty oak
Singing, chanting, crying
Surrounded by smoke
