A Thought In A Crowd

Once I turned
And caught you
In the middle
Of bright laughter,
Gay faced, eyes
Joy wrinkled as
Your body rippled
Softly,
And I knew the riddle
Of my feeling would
Remain forever after
In my mind,
And the thrilling sadness
Stabbed when I
Knew I’d never find
The simple answer
To why I stand
And feel you reach
Towards me,
Through the clangour
And the noise,
I long to be free
From the desperate
Chatter of that
Writhing room,
And to be
Alone
With
You
To find the answer
Together.
