A Walmart Parking Lot

To laugh at life
You have to have,
A perpetual sense of humor.

If you laugh,
They say,
The life you live,
Will potentially,
Last much longer.

I am sitting in the dark,
Stranded,
In a Walmart parking lot,
And finding it,
Hard to laugh.

I cannot see the humor in,
My current situation.
I am desperately in need,
Of some comic revelation.

Then suddenly,
It dawns on me.
And I can see,
My poetry,
Is witty confirmation.

With words and rhyme,
I laugh at me,
And thus embrace,
Salvation.

That's what i say too..when all is going bad.pray..then laugh and reach for the notebook and pen...(i've had to use anything i can find to write on, just to write it down and get the poem off my back) ........you made me smile.
To laugh at self....is comedic relief....in its finest hour! Excellent.
Very good. It just goes to show you that things are rarely as bad as they seem. Ron
This is a really fine and typical American poem. A feeling of grandiosity together with solitude. At Walmart's one buys on favourable terms as well.
