A Whore's Nightmare

They say in dreams you won’t feel pain
But there’s still a bitter taste and
Some sorrow may remain
An image of her undressing with no grace
While I guide her down and finger her chains

If I quit on this, I might have nothing left
For Christ within, Because I traded a promise
Of wedlock in for a sin: A war on the self;
The next sexual disease; Just hear them scream please!
As they get to their knees.

Now I have seen to Sonny's burning and vulgar decay
Someday I think I'll cut him down, but it can get so
Cold in here and he gives off such an evil power
Sowing the small blind worthless seeds
That eventually blooms into every demon flower

Now the fire and flowers both consume me
The wine of hurt and isolation gives you no reprieve
As the end is written on the card, there is nothing
Left to see. Here comes another fire at my chapel
Bring on the breeze!

So see like we she is what she has chosen to be
Can you tell her she means nothing to me!
Absolutely nothing to me- Her irritable sound and fury
Thus feed yourself to the dogs my loves
Because your carrion doesn’t count for much

As Shakespeare wrote, 'Lady, thou dost protest too much'.
