A Women

Poem By Denise Watkins

A womens heart is like a safe with a lost key,
Secrets are buried deep inside where darkness lies,
She sometimes wants to forget the trauma thats locked away,
She cries, she lies, she prays,
Waking in the middle of the night drowning in her cold sweat, her hair soaking wet,
A womens life is like a untold story,
A novel never shared, never fair, so deep, so forbidden, so sad,
Although you would never know, because this part is never told, and this book is never sold,
A womens body is a single temple,
Gaurded by night with cries of fright,
Alive by day with smiles of grace,
A women she is so strong, yet so weak,
Bearing children, leading life, cleaning, cooking, being mom, holding the title of being strong,
Or is she really crumbling like broken stone?
