Abandoned Love

A single lost rose
Abandoned on the road
Blood red on asphalt black
A discarded thought
A discarded poem
A discarded love
The edges of its petals darken
With each car that passes

oh my this is so painful...to be hurt like a rose run over by the callousness of travellers....
Thank you Patricia for reading my offering and for your generous comments. I find that in times of emotional overdrive, coincidences, synchronicities and messages seem to materialize. Jung was quite right! ! ! ! I honestly did not wonder how it managed to be there, but did see almost immediately its significance in my own emotional 'drama' But I guess the poets 'eye' will see deeper into the everyday occurences
What a little gem. It is difficult to figure out why a rose would be abandoned; it seems to have a heart full of tales if only it could speak sometimes. (though probably somebody laid it on the roof to unlock the car, and it fell during the drive..but my mind is never satisfied with such a simple explanation; that's the reason I write poetry) .
