Absurdly Simple

Poem By Patricia A. Perras

Constant thoughts bring mournful tears,
the discouragement in the path that seems endless,
withdrawn to the world of pity and futility,
displeasure announces the presence of loneliness.

Fearfully facing the turbulence that life brings,
shouldering the unwanted anxiety of pain,
lost in the fierceness of endless bewilderment,
not knowing what reality brings.

Creeping slowly toward the abyss of nowhere,
pondering the eventuality of not being,
dressing the external to please in order to be,
capturing signals to remain intact.

Helplessly relying on a perceptual needs,
neither given not taken in comfort,
establishing the mask of peaceful contentness,
all are fooled into viewing a healing soul.
