Access And Being Accessable

Poem By Lawrence S. Pertillar

Having access.
And being assessable.
To accept and express love.
Today is a necessity.

These are not the times.
For anyone conscious of them to find,
Being a gladiator on the prowl.
Satisfies the beating of love.
To defeat the presence of it.
Cheering its demise.
In parades of glorious victories.
Barbaric are such thoughts to leave.

Having access.
And being assessable.
To have it shown and known,
A concern kept for others...
Is a feeling to want and condone.
And not an overblown idealistic wish.
To hear about yet left to myths.
Is not for anyone to disregard.
Or dismiss as unrealistic.
These are not those times.
To idolize or symbolize images,
Of false gods created to praise.
That have yet these days,
Proven what love can do to feel real.
Without wings, trumpets blaring.
Or halos to adorn.
For those awaiting,
To step through the gates of heaven.
