When will time erode my pain
by Janet Mary Zylstra
And give me peace to live again
Without the sense of gradual death
That hampers each lung-breaking breath?
Will I ever feel at one
With myself now I'm alone?
Or will I always gasp and sigh
For my other half who left to die?
Where is the light? The candle's blown
And left me in the dark, alone
Without your hand to touch, your breath to hear;
Just me and crystal, unshed tears.
