Afraid Of Dying

Poem By Anthony E. Briguglio

When I was in my mother's womb
I wasn't afraid of dying
When I had learned of death and doom
I wasn't afraid of dying

When I left my mom and dad
I wasn't afraid of dying
When I learned that love could hurt so bad
I wasn't afraid of dying
When I lay helpless in a hospital bed
I wasn't afraid of dying
When I get mad all I could see is red
I wasn't afraid of dying.

When someone close to me dies and it's time to morn
I wasn't afraid of dying
When I was in the delivery room and my son was born
Now I'm afraid of dying

Out Of Sight

When I was born a little boy
I was born to a world of darkness
I did not speak for I was young to understand
I was born to a world of darkness.

Remembering My Childhood

I remember my childhood everyday I'm alive
the absentee of my parents, on my own to survive.
I remember only being nine and taking care of myself
I stole from the store, took food from the shelf.
