After The Sunset Goes
Poem By Lawrence S. Pertillar
No seed planted to have witnessed,
Its budding to struggle from roots to grow.
May be slow to bloom.
With identity yet certain,
To qualify a beauty not yet to be seen.
Before high noon approaches.
But as time passes and sunset nears,
Undeniable becomes its significance.
A significance remaining not long to stay.
But the impact of its presence,
Not only for its beauty shared unselfishly.
But for the time it spent evolving to leave,
Memories imprinted in minds never to forget...
How precious beauty is to appreciate more,
After the sunset goes.
And the twilight slips away,
Into a darkness many wish...
Could be stopped to allow them to recapture,
All they had missed to take for granted.
