After You

The days are long
And the coffee’s cold
The daydreams are all wrong
Depression starting to unfold
After you
What am I to do
The nights are bleak
Darker than a black hole
The beating heart is weak
Loneliness running out of control
After you
What am I to do
After you there is no living left to do
After you there is a pain I never knew
After you, there is no sense, after you
For this empty feeling
There is no defense
As I search for healing
I’ve lost all confidence
What have I become
A stranger to myself
Wrapped tight a drum
Like a broken toy on the shelf
After you
What am I to do
After you there is no route of where to start
After you there is no doubt of a broken heart
After you, I can hardly breathe, after you
Every breath a deep sigh
Don’t know what is real or not
Who will count every tear I cry
Emptiness is all I got
After you
What am I to do
And this solitude keeps growing
And I can’t put a stop to that
I can’t live without knowing
Because misery is nothing to laugh at
