Alone In January

As this path winds and spins
My world blinds with pens
The ink splashes in my eyes
Painting them the color of flies
The page is always blank
Because my mind has walked the plank
Into the shark infested waters, down to the lowest reaches
Sinking further below, my thoughts wash up on beaches
I dream of the days you called my peaches
And hot flowing waterfalls appear on my face
My heart bumps and thumps beginning to race
Then it explodes and the scraps scatter
The love you tore out has left it in tatters
