Along The Road To Bonbien

The gravel spits 'neath the cumbersome wheels
.....Where pebbles are unearthed - once of virgin soil
Sharpened curves that tease ones eyes- -
..........As the engines oil - begins to boil.

Over heating along this winding road
.....As fears release fright or flight- -
Alas, bringing on an apprehensive desert daylight view
.....Questions now - of reaching destination before night.

Upon the road to Bonbien
.....Many reminders clutch at my brain
Of broken journeys spent in my youth- -
.....While traveling along 'Heartbreaks Lane'.

The dust clouds the windshield
.....As the foot is steady on times gas pedal
Praying for pleasant conclusions of this journey
.....For upon arrival hoping the dust will settle.

Traveling the road to Bonbien
.....Has proven to be a challenge of ones mind
As the gravel spits one last time ' neath the wheels
Ever wary - of what in the end we'll find.

Oh, the road to Bonbien can be quite perilous
.....At times, such a rough and tumble winding drive
Unnerving even the bravest of 'lost souls'
.....With prayerful hope - this journey to survive.

They have many names for this place on Earth
..........Bonbien - just to name one- -
Where red earth, sand, and gravel paves the way
.....At the end of our journey - when all life's
.......................................Are done!

Tried to edit the last line and insert the word travels- as in when all life's travels are done! ! Kept checking - hasn't corrected yet. Sorry everyone!
