Always On The Outside

Poem By Alison Smith

Why can't I reach out and seek love
What must I do to be one with them
How will I deal with the release next time
Maybe they should have let me go

I wanted to leave my body
I wanted to soar in the air
But they called me back down
I'm away from family but not free

Deep within my heart I know
That I hold great knowledge
And it will be set free
But until Im free
Then it will be suppressed

Help me find my destiny
Let me seek my final path alone
I feel unsure of my next step
You all nod and say “we know”

Why must you be my salvation?
When my salvation should be me
No one has the right to force me
Really all I want is to be free.

Comments about Always On The Outside

You're an aswome writer! I love this poem, keep writing and I'll kep reading.
Whatever truth, resolution or reconciliation is out there for us, in the end we must find it by ourselves. But there are those who love us who can't help but try to point the way. To find your own way of course you have to be free, you have to be yourself. A very painful piece of revelatory writing Alison. Eloquent and very honest. Be you. You can be that on here. xxx love, jim

The sign of hail on the way
Lighting giving a great show
