Amber Light Memories

Poem By Melanie Fairhurst

guttering of the candle, the slightest warmth tickling my skin.
Half shadow half amber light memories.
shudder of flowing water
nothing sound of my breathing
in and out,
moving with the wind
moving with the earth.
round moon thumping with my heartbeat,
thumping with my loins.
soft metal tinkle of my small splashes,
my guiding movements.
in line, toes pointing to the seductive moon,
heads towards my future
my past
my now.
The moon growing bigger and smaller,
thrusting to my sight.

the sky above me, a starry wake.
